Meet Maya

Maya De La Rosa-Cohen (she/her) is a writer and playwright from San Francisco. She believes in the power of storytelling to build ongoing forms of connection and empathy, especially in times of fear and division. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and Columbia University, Maya’s work has been published and performed in online and physical spaces across the world.

Most recently, her play The First Three was performed at the New Roots Theater Festival (dir. Jon Moscone). The play was developed with support from The Ground Floor at Berkeley Repertory Theatre and SFBATCO’s Creator’s Lab and was a finalist for the Playwrights Foundation’s 47th Annual Bay Area Playwright Festival.

She is currently in fellowship with LABA Bay Area.
